Learn how AEM’s Content Fragment Console and Editor make it easy to understand and manage referenced content.
Transcript
Hi there. In this video, we’ll focus on how easy it is to understand reference content with content fragments. Let’s get started. The Content Fragment Console displays reference information. To view this information, ensure that you have the appropriate columns visible. You can do this by selecting the Customize Table button in the top right, and make sure the Reference By column is selected to be visible.
The Reference By column contains a button that, when clicked, displays a list of all other content fragments that reference this content fragment. From here, we can click on the parent reference to quickly open the referencing content fragment.
Next, let’s open a content fragment in the AEM Content Fragment Editor. If a content fragment is referenced by at least one other content fragment, an icon will appear in the top right of the editor. The icon will have a number next to it indicating the number of references. By clicking on the icon, a list of all the content fragments that reference this content fragment are displayed. From here, we can click on the parent reference to quickly open the referencing content fragment. Understanding the inverse of this relationship is also easy. Content Fragment Reference fields have an info icon. By clicking on the icon, the reference content fragments information, including its location, will be displayed. You can also click on the Open Content Fragment icon next to the info icon to quickly open the referenced content fragment. And there you have it. The AEM Content Fragment Console and Editor make it incredibly easy to understand reference and related content within your content fragments. Whether you’re exploring reference content, understanding parent references, AEM provides a seamless and intuitive experience.
