Creating a multilingual email with the Adobe Experience Manager integration creating-multilingual-email-aem

Using this document, you will learn how to create a multilingual email using Adobe Experience Manager content and language copies.

The prerequisites are:

  • Access to an AEM instance configured for the integration.
  • Access to an Adobe Campaign instance configured for the integration.
  • An Adobe Campaign multilingual email template configured to receive AEM content.

Creating new email content in Adobe Experience Manager creating-email-content-aem

  1. From Adobe Experience Manager homepage, select Site.

  2. Select in which folder you want to create your page and click Create then Page. Here, we create our page in the en_us folder which will be our default language.

  3. Select the Adobe Campaign Email (ACS) template.

  4. Fill in the properties of your email and click Create.

  5. Open your new email content and personalize it as needed. For more on this, refer to this page.

  6. From the Workflow tab, select the Approve for Adobe Campaign validation workflow. You will not be able to send an email in Adobe Campaign if it uses a content that has not been approved.

  7. Click Complete then Newsletter review from the Complete work item window.

  8. Click Complete then Newsletter approval. Once the content and sending parameters are defined, you can proceed to approving, preparing, and sending the email in Adobe Campaign Standard.

Creating language copies creating-language-copies

After designing your email content, you now need to create your language copies which will be sync with Adobe Campaign Standard as variants.

  1. Select your previously created page, click Create then Language Copy.

  2. Select your previously created email content which will be translated in the chosen languages then click Next.

  3. In the Target language(s) drop-down, select in which language your content will be translated then click Next.

  4. Click Create.

Your language copies are now created, you can now edit your content depending on the chosen language.

CAUTION
Every language copy needs to be approved via the Approve for Adobe Campaign validation workflow. You will not be able to send an email in Adobe Campaign if it uses a content that has not been approved.

Creating your multilingual content in Adobe Campaign Standard multilingual-acs

  1. From Adobe Campaign Standard homepage, click Create an email.

  2. Select your Adobe Campaign multilingual email template configured to receive Adobe Experience Manager content. To learn more on how to create a template linked to your Adobe Experience Manager instance, refer to this page.

    NOTE
    In this case, you will need to duplicate the built-in template Multilingual email (mailMultiLang) to be able to send your multilingual email.

  3. Fill in the Properties and Audience of your email and click Create.

  4. In the Edit properties, make sure your Adobe Experience Manager account is correctly set in the Content drop-down.

  5. Click Language copy creation.

  6. Select your previously created Adobe Experience Manager content and click Confirm. The Adobe Experience Manager contents displayed here are only validated contents and can be filtered on their Label and Path.

    NOTE
    The chosen language copy will be set as default, you can later change it in the Content variant block.

  7. Click Create variants to link your multilingual content. Adobe Campaign Standard will then automatically link the other language copies to this content. The created variants will have the same label and code language as the ones chosen in Adobe Experience Manager.

  8. Click the Content variant block to change your default variant if needed and click Confirm.

  9. If your content or variants are updated in Adobe Experience Manager, you can directly synchronize it in Adobe Campaign Standard with the Refresh AEM contents button.

    You will not be able to send an email in Adobe Campaign if it uses an AEM content that has not been approved.
